DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, April 3 /PRNewswire/ --

The 2008 World Summit of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (WSIE) -- the most inspiring gathering of its kind in Dubai -- concluded this afternoon, calling for improving the role of innovation as a catalyst for peace and development to improve the quality of lives for billions of people worldwide.

The three-day summit, organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, brought together over 800 delegates from all walks of life.

A specially-designated innovation team, the Innovivors -- a convergence of innovative minds joining hands to create ingenious solutions to the pressing issues facing emerging societies -- made a series of recommendations, portraying an inspiring look at how the future will unfold. The recommendations, which reflected the experiences, surprises, brilliance, splendor and foresight of the future leaders, formed the roadmap for utilizing innovation for peace around the globe.

The recommendations include Branding Peace to influence the hearts; the Innovation Passport for Youth to allow outstanding young entrepreneurs and innovators to travel freely; Innovation for Peace Academy to envision, design and integrate an educational curriculum to build innovation capacity; unveiling a Innovation Community Portal to foster co-existence and cultural dialogue among youth worldwide focusing on various spheres; and use the power of Cognitive and Imagination tools to help youth express their intentions and innovative aspirations. Also envisaged is a WSIE-promoted Competition for Peace where a talk with a global organization would be initiated to promote peace around the globe.

In his comments after the plenary session which agreed on the actionable recommendations to encourage innovation for peace and entrepreneurship in the changed global milieu, Sam Hamdan -- the Chairman and Chief Strategist of Global Leadership Team and Architect of WSIE, said: "Over the last three days, we have heard leading experts from around the globe express their ideas and inputs to achieve tangible social and spiritual transformation and using innovation for peace. I am proud to announce that we have successfully adopted the recommendations made by our creative Innovivor Team and blueprint has been initiated. However, Innovation for Peace and social transformations cannot be achieved without the support and collaboration of all facets of the society. We aim to move forward along the tangible blueprint put forth by WSIE 2008 to improve the role of innovation as the catalyst for global peace."

Sam added: "The Summit provided an unparalleled experience to facilitate a change of perspective that has forever changed the way everyone looks at their businesses, partnerships and for that matter, the society at large. The charter of Innovation for Peace, designed in a city distinguished for innovation and entrepreneurship, is the perfect roadmap to achieve lasting peace across the world."

Prior to the plenary session, experts took part in a debate on 'The Power of Entrepreneurs to change the world: Living a life of chaos and creativity.' The debate, moderated by Piero Formica, professor at Jonkoping University, provided a deep insight into the world of innovative entrepreneurs who have envisioned and dominated markets through valued-added products and services.
