Milan: TIS), the alternative telecommunication company, has deployed the Bizanga Intelligent Message Processor (IMP) platform to manage and secure its pan-European email and messaging platform.
One of the principal alternative telecommunications companies in Europe, Tiscali chose Bizanga's IMP platform in conjunction with Symantec's Brightmail Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus software. It intended to delayer its email infrastructure, consolidating and simplifying systems while expanding the capabilities.
The Bizanga systems were implemented, said Salvatore Pulvirenti, CIO of Tiscali gaining an immediate payback from the installation by freeing up hardware resources as well as management overhead. The Bizanga platform decreased Tiscali's hardware footprint for edge systems by 90% while enhancing its filtering capabilities. At the same time, Tiscali introduced new features such as SPF (Sender Policy Framework) at the edge of its network.
