The MS Society in the UK has responded to today's embargoed announcement from the University of Cambridge relating to the alemtuzumab MS study results.

LONDON, October 22 /PRNewswire/ -- BP Castrol tanker drivers, working for Wincanton, are poised to take industrial action from midnight tonight, Wednesday, October 22nd until midnight on Thursday, October 23rd. The stoppage will bring the distribution of famous brands such as GTX and Magnatec to a halt nationwide.

The workers, who deliver to shipping, power stations, garages, bus and train depots, voted by an overwhelming majority to take action following the dismissal of a colleague for alleged use of a hand held mobile phone while driving a forty-tonne articulated vehicle.

An enigma unique to flowering plants  has been solved, say researchers from the University of Leicester (UK) and POSTECH, South Korea.  Scientists already knew that flowering plants, unlike animals, require not one but two sperm cells for successful fertilization.  Double fertilization is essential for fertility and seed production in flowering plants so increased understanding of the process is important.

But the mystery of this ‘double fertilization’ process was how each single pollen grain could produce ‘twin’ sperm cells. One to join with the egg cell to produce the embryo, and the other to join with a second cell in the ovary to produce the endosperm, a nutrient-rich tissue, inside the seed.
