Firstly, having caught a glimpse of the power and prowess of the practise of philosophy, I'm sure one can appreciate how having even a cursory understanding of logic could benefit all. Throughout the process of reading these essays, it is hoped that a healthy curiosity is developed, leading to an adoption of reason, perhaps even some furtherance of study. This is why the chart above is not called the “Constituents of Paradigm,” which is what it measures. (Despite the title of this essay.) I have dubbed it the “Philosophy Generator” for good reason. It is not my goal for anyone to get distracted by what the “PG” is, but rather what can be done with the information it provides. While the philosophical complexity of what the Generator represents is not lost on me, if we were to attempt to catalogue the many more multidisciplinary functions that could be utilized, we might end up spending all our time exploring a vortex of possibilities. (Such are the dangers of philosophic contemplation.) Rather, my emphasis is to be focused more on that you think about what your paradigms are and not so much what you think about those paradigms. Thus, the PG generates philosophy, both as a noun and verb.

Near the very birth of formal philosophy there was an attempt made by Plato and his peers to define what it meant to be a “man.” After much consideration and debate it was settled upon, “Man is a featherless biped.” It wasn't long before a contemporary of Plato, Diogenes had plucked a hen and held it up for all to see, “Here is Plato's man.” The definition was changed to “Man is a featherless biped with broad nails.” This is a definition that might hold up to modern scrutiny in some circles. The point is that Philosophy has always been a dynamic pursuit and I should have no reason to be surprised if I find my yard littered with dead, bald birds. To be as presumptuous and arrogant as to believe I have solved some riddle 2500 years old, or that I have actually discovered some subjective, worthwhile, previously undiscovered philosophical endeavour would be untrue and unfair. Perhaps what I have come to understand, expressed in these pages, would best be summed up as an acceptance to the limits of our beings as individuals in a world designed to control masses. To put it bluntly, as I do by the campfire or watering hole when my friends ask me what it is I'm writing about, “It's about how we're all full of shit and don't even know it.” Which is a phenomenon that is extremely dangerous and counterproductive to survival. I have, over the last four years, come to understand that the real promise of philosophy is the achievement of “best possible thinking,” in a world that contradicts reason.

Anti-Social Engineering seeks the philosophical self both in definition from Social Psychologists and in reality from the Engineers who have, for the most part clandestinely, controlled it. Not to be confused with the seldom used business connotation, Anti-Social Engineering doesn't refer to the coaxing out of information you otherwise might not divulge, but rather is a personal resistance to any social engineering to which you may have succumbed. It is not (anti-social) (engineering) it is (anti) (social engineering.) Social engineers come in various forms and do their work in many disciplines. From the beer commercial that entices you to believe you will be deemed sexy by drinking a particular name brand, to the politician who wins your vote with promises he won't keep, social engineering is as old as language itself. We will concern ourselves primarily with the clandestine engineering that modernity finds itself bombarded with. We seek to expose the agendas of powerful manipulators that have pulled great wools over amassed eyes.

My book, nearing completion, is a personal self-examination that reveals how our opinions or ideals are not entirely our own creations. To discover and combat these types of issues from your own psyche is a valid necessity, but without discussing the social causes of these problems we are unable to see the fire for the trees. Evaluation, be it by self or professional, can reveal personal problems but more than psychology is needed to deal with a maladjusted people, society, or species. Enter the Author, studying not any one particular speciality to attempt to answer many questions, but studying many disciplines to answer one, probably the most important question facing humans today, stolen from an 80's pop hit from the band the Fixx, “Are we ourselves?”

The problems of self on the level of which I speak can be some of the ugliest causes of all. There are going to be people who react to these ideas negatively. The realization this work seeks in you may be akin to the personal pain realized through psychiatry. This is to be expected here, causes are often illogical to the conscious mind, so it puts no weight or meaning to the cause, therefore keeping the subject (you) unaware of the important link between “secret cause” and “secret effect.” Everyone is a function of their programming, it's just that not all the programming is known. Revealing, defining and combatting this programming is the goal of Anti-Social Engineering.

Next, we must introduce the words “Assignee's Prerogative.” Where the Philosophy Generator is the means, Assignee's Prerogative is the ends.  This is the discerning of your “Authentic Self.” Assignee's prerogative states that you give the paradigms you have their weight, worth, value, power and strength. It is the Atheists' prerogative to assign little power to his “God paradigm.” It is the Preachers' prerogative to do the opposite. Those of us who waltz through life unaware of the amazing intricacies of the human psyche will have no use for understanding Assignee's Prerogative. These people, still assigning worth to their paradigms without contemplating them, will have no means to achieve any sort of awareness. Conversely, once we have been made aware of Assignee's Prerogative we must accept responsibility and be accountable for our consciousnesses. Thus, enlightenment is not a frivolous pursuit.

The appreciation of the Philosophy Generator provides the pathway to self discovery. Understanding and accepting Assignee's Prerogative provides self awareness and accountability. Anti-Social Engineering cuts through any programming that has clouded your personal paradigm and exposes counterproductive, uneudaemonic agendas. By the completion of this book, anyone reading it will no longer be able to use the excuse of ignorance. For if one is truly aware of the ideas they accept and deny, encourage and resist, bury or uncover, then they are ultimately aware, enlightened and personally powerful. If we are successful we will be fighting fire with fire by socially engineering Anti-Social Engineers.
