Depending on the feed stock it may be referred as :
– Soybean methyl ester - SME or SOME
– Rape methyl ester - RME
– Fatty acid methyl ester - FAME (a collective term including both of the above).
– Vegetable oil methyl ester - VOME yielding plants provide bio-diesel.
