HAMBURG, Germany, January 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Alexander Otto, CEO of ECE Projektmanagement, took over as Chairman of ULI Europe as of January 1, 2009. Otto, Chairman of ULI Germany for the last five years, sees his new task as above all to advance the international interests of the urban development and real estate sector: The internationalization of the property sector offers enormous potential to learn from outstanding projects or companies in other countries. ULI Europe acts as a forum for the exchange of know-how on international level. And one of my core aims will be to promote this exchange, especially in the field of innovative environmental and sustainability concepts.

The Chairman of ULI Europe represents the institute and its members at external events and is also responsible for developing strategies and specific objectives as well as promoting ULI ideas and the ULI mission. I intend to create international training concepts to further the cross-border exchange of expertise and experience, says Alexander Otto.

Under Otto's leadership, ULI Germany has grown into an organization with strong roots and has tripled its membership during his time as Chairman. The German arm of the ULI has staged numerous special-topic events and created an award that has been presented each year since 2005 in the spirit of sustainability to outstanding leadership figures in the property sector. The award winners act as role models for up-and-coming talents in the real estate industry.
