The application allows the company's more than 30 million members -- who are frequently traveling for business or pleasure -- to view and navigate the Assist America website seamlessly on iPhone mobile devices, without need for resizing or extensive scrolling. Once members have logged in, the mobile site provides one-tap connection to the company's emergency operations center for immediate medical assistance anywhere in the world, as well as service descriptions and extensive on-the-go travel information, such as visa and inoculation requirements, cultural tips and recent media stories for any of the 194 sovereign nations recognized by the U.S. State Department.

Our members are in constant motion all over the globe, and their phones are their lifelines, says George Howard, President of Assist America. We developed Assist America Mobile with their needs in mind -- providing a rapid way to activate our services, and practical, relevant information for their travels presented in an easy-to-navigate format. He adds, Our company has always been a pioneer in the assistance industry, so it made sense to develop first for the Apple iPhone -- which has revolutionized mobile technology -- and to follow shortly with other platforms. We are very excited to introduce this unique benefit to our members and insurance company partners around the world, including MEDGULF and Daman Health in the Middle East.

The Assist America Mobile application will sense automatically whether a visitor to the assistamerica.com website is using an iPhone and seamlessly display the optimized version. An icon for the site can be placed easily on the iPhone desktop by pressing the bookmark button.
