MUNICH and HANNOVER, Germany, May 17, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The tele-shopping TV station Channel21 GmbH, headquartered in Hanover, will be relying on the services of Wirecard AG with immediate effect. As part of the agreement the Munich-based technology service provider will be taking over both the comprehensive risk management system for assessment of new customers and downstream payment processing of all incoming orders via the Internet and call center distribution channels.
In the field of payment processing and settlement, in supplementation of technical PSP services Channel21 has also opted for credit card acceptance (acquiring) for MasterCard and Visa via Wirecard Bank AG, with the aim of achieving synergies by single-source processing and settlement.
In the field of risk management, at Channel21 Wirecard solution modules are deployed as part of the order acceptance process that serve to identify and avoid instances of fraud on the one hand but also support merchant-specific risk management strategies on the other. For instance, these are based on complex decision-making tables that enable Channel21 to include supplementary information of relevance when accepting orders and evaluating new customers in addition to assessments by credit agencies in their decision-making processes, such as requirements of the industry segment, the distribution channel in question, any product risks and a great deal more. Accordingly, at Channel21 this process serves as a basis for fine-tuning the payment processes to be made available and thus has a positive impact on generating sales, on invoicing and C.O.D. quotas and on management of defaults in payment. In the field of credit information services, Channel21 has decided to cooperate with the credit inquiry agency CEG Creditreform Consumer GmbH, which is accessed via the Wirecard platform.
The tele-shopping TV station Channel21 meanwhile is among the top 3 of its industry in Germany, reaching some 35 million TV households with its 24-hour station. In addition, all sales programs can be followed via a live streaming service on the Internet. Orders can then be placed either by telephone or in the online shop.
