According to Professor Frank Azimont, who teaches on the European Master in Management, a joint programme run with Aston in the UK and Ludwig Maximillian in Germany, many new students arrive with a single-minded view about business. First degrees, particularly those in business or management, can format ways of thinking through the exposure of only one dominant stand point, he says. It's therefore important at a master degree to expose students to a variety of ideas and methods to open students' mind and provide them with the tools to exercise critical judgement. By using faculty from three key, yet subtly different, national markets and intellectual traditions, we can help to show that there is no one way of approaching a challenge or opportunity in business.

The European Master in Management is a two-year programme with a highly diverse international class. This year, 17 different countries are represented.

The first year of study consists of core courses taught at the EMLYON Business School campus, followed by an internship of 6 months. The second year of the programme focuses on acquiring knowledge and takes place at the partner institution that is recognised as an expert in the field: marketing at Aston Business School, finance at EMLYON Business School and consulting and strategy at the Munich Management School (LMU).

The goal of the programme is to produce professionals who are ready for roles in consultancy, marketing or financial services.
