MOSCOW, March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- A high-tech Photonics exhibition, which is to be held at Expocentre (Moscow) on April 20 - 23, 2009, will include a special section. It will be completely devoted to laser nanotechnologies, which are considerably transforming the image of modern electronics.

The emergence of this new section is connected with the beginning of the realization of a large-scale federal program of nanoindustry development in Russia. Photonics appears to be one of the most promising avenues of activity in nanoindustry, embracing the whole complex of laser technologies, laser-optical equipment, optical equipment, optoelectronics and photoelectronics. The range of application for the technologies displayed at the Photonics exhibition at Expocentre includes sectors from industry to transport, communications systems and laser medicine.

The part played by laser equipment mastering is equivalent to the part of electrification at the beginning of the twentieth century, - such is the conviction of Ivan Kovsh, one of the most authoritative experts in the field and President of the Laser Association, which is actively cooperating with Expocentre in the field of exhibition preparation.

Summing up the results of last year's Photonics'2008 exhibition, exhibitors and branch specialists noted that it has given a powerful boost to the conversion of novel laser equipment developments into market products, and that the participation of more than 150 companies from 15 countries world-wide made the exhibition really international and to the fully reflected world trends in the development of laser-optical technologies.

For the first time, the business program of the Photonics'2009 exhibition will be arranged according to subject days. A series of scientific conferences, seminars and round table discussions are to open Industry Day (April 20), during which scientists and branch specialists will discuss practical mastering of laser-optical technologies in the real sector of our domestic economy.

The Photonics'2009 exhibition, the organizers of which are Expocentre and the Laser Association, will be held with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the RF, the European Optical Society, the State Committee for Science and Technologies of the Republic of Belarus, the Technological Center Association of German Engineers, and also under the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the RF and the Government of Moscow.
