Rocksure Systems in association with leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has been announced as a finalist in the prestigious Housebuilding Innovation Awards 2008. Rocksure's Peoplesafe system is entered into the Best Innovation in Technology category, the winner of which will be announced on the 23rd of October.

Taylor Wimpey's comprehensive health and safety policy was the prime reason behind signing a national agreement for the Peoplesafe service which is a comprehensive lone worker safety system - not just a panic alarm.

Peoplesafe's award-winning Identicom devices - which resemble standard ID badges -have been distributed throughout the George Wimpey and Bryant Home Regions and used solely by the company's sales personnel.

Devised by Housebuilder magazine and the Home Builders Federation, the Housebuilding Innovation Awards aim to recognise companies which are demonstrating a commitment to innovation in the housebuilding industry. They are supported by the government, which views them as an aid to raising standards.

Taylor Wimpey chose Peoplesafe after conducting a trial with competitor systems.

"What sets us apart from our peers in the management of health and safety is the extent and depth of our policies. "When considering the protection of our sales personnel, we wanted to create a partnership whereby staff had the impetus and infrastructure to manage their safety," said Karen Cullis, National Marketing Manager, Taylor Wimpey.

Although the Peoplesafe service's Identicom device resembles a normal ID holder, it houses cutting-edge mobile phone technology enabling a lone worker to discreetly raise the alarm if threatened or to transmit a conversation to the monitoring centre who can record it for evidence. The Peoplesafe system can also locate the device using GSM technology.

NOTES TO EDITORS

Peoplesafe from Rocksure systems is the UK's leading provider of the award-winning Identicom device. The device offers lone worker protection, via its two-tier alerts, worker location facility and escalation procedures which call in the emergency services as required.
