LONDON, March 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Vivisimo, the leader in Information Optimization, announced today that it has selected Gary Palmer as the Director of Sales for the United Kingdom. Gary brings to Vivisimo's customers sixteen years of experience working for a variety of established firms including Autonomy, eSpirit, and Siemens. During his lengthy career Gary has been responsible for pioneering new business development with customers across the globe. Irrespective of the technology involved, Palmer has focused on developing solutions that deliver true business value in a range of industries and company sizes.

Before joining Vivisimo, Gary worked for Siemens in the Product Lifecycle Management division as a strategic account manager responsible for capturing new business at major United Kingdom companies. Prior to this Gary was a Senior Sales Executive at a FTSE 100 enterprise software company and was responsible for developing new business relationships with large businesses including TNT, Scottish & Southern Energy and the South African Revenue Service.

"We are delighted by the wealth of sales experience and new business results that Gary is bringing to the table to help spearhead our efforts to address the strong demand overseas for our Information Optimization platform," said John Kealey, CEO of Vivisimo. "Over the past two years Information Optimization has transformed from a great platform into a credible trend that is continuing to gain momentum with European-based organizations that are looking for real economic returns on their software investments."

Palmer spent over 10 years creating a European subsidiary for an American software company with a focus on life-science clients, successfully creating relationships with 14 of the 20 largest pharmaceutical companies. This followed a period of nine years in industrial control systems with roles evolving through product development, project management and presales before transitioning into business development and sales in the mid 90s.

"I chose Vivisimo because I recognized that more and more organizations needed a platform like Vivisimo's Velocity that helps extract the maximum business value out of the information residing in the network," said Gary Palmer. "As more data is placed on the network and as organizations take on a larger virtual and/or remote workforce it's becoming abundantly clear that there's an endless supply of customers that will need Vivisimo's help to coral and use that data effectively. Recent analyst reports in the USA alone indicate that over $1.4 trillion was lost annually by organizations because workers wasted time looking for the correct information within their network."
