MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, January 7 /PRNewswire/ --

Bytemobile, Inc., the global leader in mobile internet solutions for network operators, today announced the successful deployment of its integrated web and multimedia content adaptation solutions in the network of Vodafone Hungary Ltd. As a result, Vodafone Hungary has upgraded its mobile data services to deliver the open Internet, including Adobe(R) Flash(R) Player animation and video, to virtually all wireless handheld devices.

As our partner since 2003, Bytemobile has continually impressed us with its customer-centric approach to integrated solutions, said Levente Lovas, product marketing manager, Portal and Propositions, Vodafone Hungary. Our most recent deployment of web and media adaptation will enhance our ability to deliver a consistently rich, fast experience across all content on all devices. The excellent working relationship between the two companies ensured the success of the project, and we look forward to continuing our mutually productive partnership.

Vodafone Hungary first deployed the Bytemobile(R) Optimization and Services Node (OSN) software in 2003 and most recently added the Web Fidelity(TM) Suite of applications. The OSN is a smart optimization solution that significantly reduces data volume in the network, thereby increasing capacity while accelerating downloads and uploads, even as traffic continues to rise. The OSN and Web Fidelity Suite software are fully integrated on Bytemobile's Unison(TM) Mobile Internet Platform in the core data path of the network.

It is imperative that operators keep up with the dynamic nature of the Internet, as growing numbers of users rely on mobile devices for their personal and professional needs, said Adrian Hall, chief marketing officer at Bytemobile. The Web Fidelity Suite of applications was designed in partnership with our customers to enable the next generation of mobile internet applications on feature phones and smartphones. We are pleased to continue working strategically with Vodafone Hungary as it launches and scales new value-added data services for its customers.

Open Web Browsing and Streaming Media

The Web Fidelity Suite software is currently deployed in the networks of several tier-one network operators, which are delivering branded mobile internet services to their subscribers. These include a number of Vodafone operating companies, under an existing global supply agreement between Vodafone Group plc and Bytemobile. The Web Fidelity Suite software won a 2008 Mobile Content Award for Enriching Search and Discovery from Visiongain Global Limited, a leading telecommunications industry market research firm in the United Kingdom (http://www.bytemobile.com/news-events/2008/archive_250608.html).

The Web Fidelity Suite software dynamically and transparently transcodes all web and multimedia content for interactive use on mobile devices. Equipped with user-friendly navigation tools, the software enables simple internet browsing across all handsets, while retaining the functionality and integrity of original PC web pages and made-for-mobile websites. The product also enables discovery of both embedded and downloadable video and audio files according to device specifications and ensures a continuous media stream to all devices with standard media players.

With the deployment of the Web Fidelity Suite of applications, Vodafone Hungary subscribers with WAP2.0 feature phones will be able to access the open Internet, and smartphone subscribers will enjoy full-HTML browsing capabilities. The Web Fidelity Suite of applications requires no client software downloads or other changes to subscribers' existing handsets.
