About Amanda I received my B.Sc. in Geology at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2006. I will receive my M.Sc. from Auburn University in Geology with specialization in structure and tectonics in December 2009. My undergraduate mentor was Dr. Robert D. Hatcher, Jr. and my graduate adviser is Dr. Mark G. Steltenpohl, both prominent in the field of Appalachian Geology. I am an avid Appalachian Geologist, having grown up and studied in these mountains all my life. There are still total mysteries and new theories coming out all the time. I have 2 abstracts published with GSA that I presented at the SE sectional meetings in 2008 and 2009. I want to share what I have learned, but I still have a lot of learning to do, too.
