Bread At Whole Foods
At my local chain store, bread is $.99-1.39 a loaf but I pay more for a French bread if I am there or for my weekly pasta. Our anonymous expert says the bread at Whole Foods is terrific and they have it sliced there and then slice it down the middle when they get home and freeze half. In a dry climate, I am not sure that works. Back east I froze bread without issue but here is it always terrible - obviously it could just be drier by the time I get it.

Cost $2.99 a loaf but at least that's something on this list that people eat commonly. The only thing, really.
