Said octogenarian apple orchard owner Rattan Chand, "Having lived more than 80 summers here, I can only say that the summers are getting worse with each passing year. And this summer is certainly one of the hottest I have seen." " News paper report.

The summer capital of British Raj is one example of destruction and devastations playing havoc on climate in India. Gradually the cutting and felling of trees to feed over 500 million rural population with no alternative means for fuel are taking cutting of forests and selling wood as their profession.
India has possibility of sustainable development but it takes one minute to cut a tree and twenty years to make a tree.
its high time the countries world over give a thought to replacement of woodfuel with non edible oils like Jatropha oil and using improved stoves provide alternatives to wood fuel.
Providing alternatives to woodfuel for houshold of 70 percent Indians living in villages i.e. 700 million people using wood fuel obtained from dwindling forests could do better than looking for alternatives to petrol for cars . Enivronmental pollution and environmental destruction and population explosion  must be seen in close proximity and measures to check all are required to save the planet.
