As against the common belief out of 16 families showing C 4 type of photosynthesis ( in some of their plant species ) mainly found in tropical plants where initial carbon acceptor is Phospho enol pyruvate carboxylase and first stable product is Oxalic acid   acid Malate  , 15 families are of dicotyledonous plants and only one family of monocot i.e. Graminae has this type of photosynthesis. Only Euphorbiaceae has all the three types of photosynthesis in their plant spp.
Tagetes spp have different size flowers and are usaully offered in garlands to Indian Gods.
Tagetes spp are also grown by farmers acround their farms for vegetables. It was observed that if they grew this plant on all the sides of their farms the plants were healthy. Later people have isolated pesticides from these plants. They are also effective against nemtode infections on tomato.
Simple local techniques have sound scientifc backgrounds . Traditional wisdom needs to be analysed on scientific facts.

 





Justus Von Liebig&The Law Of The Minimum





"In the 19th century, the German scientist, Justus von Liebig, formulated the “Law of the Minimum,” which states that if one of the essential plant nutrients is deficient, plant growth will be poor even when all other essential nutrients are abundant".



This monument is situated just opposite Sudanlage 6, which housed world famous lineage of Institute of Plant Nutrition which was once headed by Professor Dr  Justus von Liebig, in Giessen, Germany, subsequnelty Professors  of great eminence  The University was given his name.
Professor Dr  Wilhelm Conrad Rontgen (1845-1923) was Professor of Physics at the the University of Giessen ( now Justus von Liebig Universitat Giessen, Germany named after Justus von Liebig)
This plant Atropa bella-donna yields famous drug atropine used to dilate the pupil of the eyes and has medicinal properties. This plant is highly valued for its medicinal properties.

Botanical gardens also show individual plant species and help in their identification
Please see Ocimum canum of family Labiatae ( Lamiaceae) It has great medicinal potential including anticancer and radiation protection value. Its closely related to holy plant Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum)  of Indian mythology.





Botanical garden also maintains water plants in ponds.
