UTRECHT, The Netherlands, January 7 /PRNewswire/ -- AcademicTransfer, the Dutch niche job-board for Academia, has taken over the American job-board Career.edu. AcademicTransfer will now be a job board for the international research and academic community in 38 countries.

AcademicTransfer

AcademicTransfer is an international job-board for academia. Founded in 1997 as a joint job-board for universities, university medical centers and research institutes in The Netherlands, it has developed into a niche site for academia and is therefore unique in its kind. Besides PhDs, Post-Docs, faculty and research positions our visitors can find a number of scientific job openings published by commercial parties. AcademicTransfer has made it its mission to assist employers in extending their range by increasing the visibility of their postings internationally and providing our visitors with relevant postings abroad. Therefore, we centralize global supply and demand of people and academic jobs. With the taking over of Career.edu, we offer visibility and opportunities for employers as well as employees worldwide.

Career.edu

Career.edu is an American job-board for the international research and academic community. As well as AcademicTransfer you will find similar PhDs, Post-Docs, faculty and research postings. Besides The United States, Career.edu is active in 38 countries. With this taking-over the combined job-postings have increased with more than 12,000 academic postings a year, viewed by more than 2 million visitors.

Mission

In the first instance, AcademicTransfer will link the 3 platforms: http://www.academictransfer.nl, http://www.academictransfer.org and http://www.career.edu. Job-posting and CV-database information will therefore be more visible. Besides, AcademicTransfer has made it its mission to cooperate closely with the European initiative for researchers 'Euraxess' and The Netherlands' Innovation Platform', to become the portal for recruitment of international academics. The mission is to increase the international visibility of supply and demand of academic job openings and to maximize the opportunities for Research Institutes and academia to interest foreign scientists for a job opening in The Netherlands. As an example for our international exposure, AcademicTransfer will attend the European Career Fair 2009 in Boston (US) from January 23rd-26th (http://www.euro-career.com).
