WORCESTER, England, November 26 /PRNewswire/ --

- Netweather Winter Weather Forecast

- Press Briefing - 26/11/2008

Ice, snow and bitter temperatures have already affected parts of the UK this Autumn and forecasters at Netweather.tv expect this to continue into the start of Winter with regular blasts of Arctic based air streaming down across the country.

Not since 2001 have temperatures been widely below average during December, so this is quite a major change from the pattern during recent years.

Paul Michaelwaite of Netweather.tv comments:

Cold winter months have become something or a rarity in recent times, particularly during the early part of the season, so a change to a pattern where regular cold spells, with snowfall and icy temperatures will serve as quite a wake up call to a British public now more used to milder winters

Forecast Detail:

December - Below average temperatures likely, rainfall close to average

January - Temperatures and rainfall close to or slightly above average

February - Temperatures possibly below average, rainfall close to or below average. Confidence for February is lower than usual due to recent swings in model output.

Paul Michaelwaite continues:

A significant wintry spell during December can certainly not be ruled out at this stage, in fact the current setup does look very conducive to such an event
