AMSTERDAM, March 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- INHOPE (International Association of Internet Hotlines) has today released its 2010 Annual Report. INHOPE represents Internet Hotlines in 34 countries combating on-line Child Sexual Abuse Material (child pornography).

Main points:-

- Number of Hotlines increased to 39 globally. - In 2010 INHOPE with the support of the European Commission, developed & launched the INHOPE Report Management System which has for the first time collected accurate data on web based child sexual abuse material (CSAM) including:- - Reports: - Over 24,000 reports of Child Sexual Abuse Material processed by INHOPE Hotlines in 2010. - Victim age: - 71% of victims pre-pubescent, 4% of victims were infants and 25% of victims were pubescent. - Victim gender: - 77% of victims were girls, 11% of victims were boys and 12% involved both genders. - Website type: - 78% of sites reported were non-commercial and 22% were commercially based requiring payment in some form. - INHOPE in collaboration with GSMA / Mobile Alliance developed and launched a "Guide to Establishing and Managing a Hotline".
