The Service Broker(TM) solution has already proven its ability to enhance Intelligent Network (IN) capabilities in order to enable multiple services on the same event (IN trigger) and easily integrate with no impact on existing IN services, thus providing an end-to-end solution. Multiple protocol variants are supported, including ETSI INAP, Siemens, Nokia, Ericsson, 3GPP CAMEL, etc., and can be integrated with any type of network.
Mobile operators around the world, including leading operators in Europe, have deployed Starhome's Service Broker. The solution has been deployed as a standalone network node enabling interworking of an operator's existing network IN VAS, as well as part of Starhome's mobile convergence and roaming services. Service Broker is an indispensable component for Pre-IMS and IMS networks.
Following market demand and technology evolution, Starhome is pleased to introduce its next generation Service Broker solution. The solution continues to enable seamless orchestration between existing legacy IN/CAP services, such as prepaid, VPN, ring-back tones and multi-SIM. The capability to incorporate newly deployed services, such as IP Centrex and SIP VoIP, has been added to the existing IN service brokerage capabilities. These capabilities include the IMS 3GPP Service Capability Interaction Manager (SCIM) and the IP Multimedia - Service Switching Function (IM-SSF).
SCIM, which was introduced in 3GPP standard TS 23.002, is an IMS component that enables orchestration of service delivery from multiple application platforms for a single session or call. It includes support for standard filter criteria processing, IMS policy management and on-line/off-line IMS charging functions. IM-SSF is the IMS component that enables SIP to IN interworking.
