PARIS, January 21 /PRNewswire/ --

- Consumers Can Run Stores without the Hassle of Inventory or Logistics and Discover Products within Any Category of Interest

Zlio.com, http://www.zlio.com, the world's largest emporium of specialty stores powered by users, today unveiled its UK website, offering a way for consumers to easily open their own online store for free. Consumers can populate their stores by choosing from more than one million products offered by 62 well-known UK merchants including Play and Dell, among others.

"Zlio's standalone platform provides a marketplace where consumers can create their own stores, even if they don't have anything to sell," says Zlio founder and CEO Jeremie Berrebi. "Our shopkeepers don't have to stock their products, handle logistics or payment. It's a turnkey solution to creating an online business without any risk that's fun, entirely free and very simple."

Zlio for Shopkeepers

Consumers looking for the digital equivalent to opening a boutique, can easily open an online store in just a few clicks and select from Zlio's database of over three million products from more than 120 top US e-merchants including Buy.com, BestBuy.com and others and one million products from 62 UK merchants including Play and Dell, among others. Shopkeepers generate revenue every time someone purchases an item from his or her store, or in some cases, simply clicks on an item. Shopkeepers are not responsible for any logistics, inventory or payments, and can thus enjoy the fun of creating and running an online specialty store for almost anything. Zlio also helps shopkeepers promote their online store by providing tools for creating a ZlioShop widget for personal blogs, Web sites or social networks and tips for using Google AdWords, search engine optimization and direct promotion via IM, email, phone calls and more.

Zlio for Shoppers

Zlio.com provides a unique shopping destination, offering specialty stores for a wide variety of categories. Unlike comparison shopping search engines, shoppers don't have to know exactly what they're looking for and can browse through stores on Zlio selling everything from eco friendly products to barbeque equipment to gardening supplies, and many more. Shopping on Zlio allows people to discover new products within any category of interest, from trusted Zlio shopkeepers.

Zlio works in concert with a growing list of top US and UK merchants that view Zlio as a way to drive demand in their retail channel. Merchant partners have recognized the company's innovative approach of empowering Zlio shopkeepers to serve as a digital sales force to help merchants find more qualified buyers for their products through trusted sources.

"For the first time, product promotion, on a large scale, is being done entirely by consumers," said Mark Tluszcz, Managing Partner of Mangrove Capital Partners. "By engaging with the individual, Zlio is helping to improve loyalty between buyers and merchants and is bringing a social component to e-commerce, which I believe will help create the most important online sales force ever seen."

Since Zlio's soft launch in September of 2006 in France and March of 2007 in the US, the company's enthusiastic shopkeepers and shoppers have driven rapid viral growth, with more than 220,000 stores and about 1,000 being added per day and more than three million products currently available. Now, with an expanded roster of merchants and the introduction of full services in the UK and upgraded features in the US, the company plans to greatly expand its reach in the coming months.
