Alexey Bersenev does not mean Scientific Blogging as in, you know, us, but rather scientific blogging in general, when he writes on his perspectives in Scientific blogging as a model for professional networking online.

He sees his blog as a hub from which he extends his voice and builds a network of other researchers.   This is the anti-corporate mentality.  Any number of companies are trying to build tools to be that social media thing with a bridge to science and spending millions to do it.   If blogging is instead the answer - what is old becomes new - it will make blogging for the masses popular again.
