LONDON, February 5 /PRNewswire/ -- In a video interview Andrew Witty, GlaxoSmithKline CEO, described the pharmaceutical group's results as robust in a year that was always going to be challenging.
GSK also announced that it will cease providing EPS guidance, to allow a focus on longer term strategic goals.
Describing 2008 as a strategic turning point for GSK Mr Witty said: We started to make very clear what it would take to really make this company strong over the next few years and how we intend to ensure that we build a business, which can really prosper in a challenging environment.
GSK also announced expanded restructuring savings that the company says will be the catalyst to move from the old business model to the new business model.
