KREMS, Austria, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems is being awarded the tender for the structural and academic development of the University of Buraimi, Oman. Therewith, one of Austria's most international Universities of Applied Sciences has been able to assert itself against five international competitors. The contract, which was signed on 7 April has a volume of 5.6 million Euro in the know-how segment. 40 million Euro are available for the entire project.

The Buraimi Project is the most far-reaching education export in Austrian history stressed Austrian Federal Minister Johannes Hahn. It emphasises the outstanding know-how to which we have access in the domestic university landscape.

The contract with University of Buraimi comprises the planning of the complete infrastructure, academic know-how including licences for the implementation of a total of six degree programmes, tried-and-tested management know-how and process implementation, as well as a four-year management consulting contracts. Heinz Boyer, the CEO of IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems: University of Buraimi, situated in the north of the Sultanate of Oman, will start the academic programme with a foundation year for 600 students in September 2009; upon completion, it should accommodate a total of 10,000 students.

The IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, in the heart of Lower Austria, is considered to be one of the most international institutes in Austria.
