John Gould, one of England's and the world's most admired orthinologists will be honoured on Wednesday morning at 10.00 am in London with a special signing of the "Gould Climate Change Pledge."

Nearly one hundred years after being formed by the Prime Minister of Australia Alfred Deakin in 1909 and named after John Gould, Gould, Australia's major environmental education organization will honour its namesake with the release of the Climate Change Pledge at the world's largest education expo BETT.

Ann-Maree Colborne, CEO of Gould said the organization for nearly one hundred years has carried out environmental education in thousands of Australian schools proudly under the Gould name felt it was important to recognize the work of John Gould who died in 1881 and its importance to today's environmental challenges.

"The online pledge will be signed by two children at the official launch of the Sustainability Wiz which will drive an international online classroom created by Gould and Etech, an Australian Company and world leader in learning technology, already represented in twenty two countries."

Ms. Colborne said, "The introduction of an international classroom on climate change through the proven 'Study Wiz Platform' will mean schools and students can share and demonstrate initiatives across the world in a safe web environment via photos, videos, drawings, and the written form.

"Within twelve months with Etech we aim to have to program delivered on mobile telephones to introduce learning on the move with SMS, online videos, written information and photos being delivered to mobile phones and iPods.

"The program has been successfully piloted in the UK, New York State, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Canberra in Australia."
