About Kevin M. I'm proud to be a public scientist at a land-grant university with great interests in public education. I completed a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and then did postdoctoral work at the University of Illinois at Chicago and then Madison, WI. In 2002 I moved to the University of Florida and in 2008 I became tenured faculty in the Horticultural Sciences Department, where I am Principal Investigator in strawberry genomics and light regulated plant development.

I also do science outreach at two personal sites, Illumination- Science, Culture and Craziness and Petal to the Metal- The science of Amoprhophallus.
