About M My undergraduate mentor was Elof Axel Carlson whom I consider a great friend. I graduated from a medical school in India with an MB BS (AM). This allows me to be a physician in India where I am also board certified in alternative medicine-the Indian counterpart to the USA naturopathic physician license. The only MBBS (AM) program that I recommend is the medical school of the Alternative Medical Council of Orissa 4 1/2 year program in integrated medicine. See the link here. http://www.amco-india.com/splcourreg.html The Indian Board of Alternative Medicine (IBAM) is where I am certified from. IBAM does offer some programs also but does not offer the MBBS (AM) degree. Their conferences, seminars and workshops are excellent. See Link- http://www.altmedworldwide.com/ Physicians in the MBBS (AM) program in India are trained in conventional Western basic and clinical medical subjects (eg., physiology, anatomy, pathology, obstetrics & gynaecology, internal medicine,, forensic medicine). They perform clinical/physical examinations, order any medical test (eg., bloodwork, EEGs, ultrasounds, MRIs), and can make any medical diagnosis all on equal grounds as that of a physician of allopathy. The methods of treatment that they are trained in or use in India include naturopathic medicine, BIHT, osteopathy, chiropractic, cell therapy, and Traditional Chinese Medicine including minor surgeries. Specifics include- Naturopathic Medicine (botanical medicine, chelation supplements) Osteopathy (Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine/OMM, visceral manipulation, cranial osteopathy, pelvic manipulative surgery, and obstetric osteopathy) Chiropractic (including spinal adjustments) Therapeutic Mesotherapy and Aesthetic Mesotherapy (see the links here for information and also for fine training programs- http://www.pinewoodinstitute.com/therapies.html and http://www.mesocanada.com/courses.html) Traditional Chinese Medicine (including Chinese patent medicines, traditional Chinese surgery and acupuncture) Cell Therapy (Since even freeze-dried whole cells present an immunological problem, examples of effective cell therapy methods include injections of animal embryonic cells since they don't have surface antigens, whole cell ultrafiltrates and omnigenic/whole embryo ultrafiltrates, and a technique called therapeutic immunology which uses cell extracts combined with antibodies). Cell therapy is not permitted in the United States. BIHT (Bioidentical Hormone Therapy) is used for replacement of hormones by using hormones that are identical to those typically found in the human body as opposed to those found in animals or synthetic hormones. Areas of interest include endocrinology and also neuroscience. .
