LOS ANGELES, January 22 /PRNewswire/ --

- Revenue increased by 35%, over 550 new customer accounts

Bunkspeed, developer of the world's fastest 3D rendering technology for design, engineering, and marketing, today reported record revenue for its 2008 fiscal year ended December 31, 2008. The 2008 revenue results were up 35% over revenues reported for FY 2007, while adding over 550 new customer accounts.

We are very pleased with our results for 2008, said Philip Lunn, CEO and Bunkspeed founder. Despite the economic downturn we continue to succeed because we deliver software solutions that help companies reduce cost by allowing them to create high quality images, used throughout the entire product development process, in the shortest amount of time. We expect similar revenue growth for 2009, especially when looking at the upcoming release of HyperMove for quick, high-quality animation creation.

In its sixth year of business, Bunkspeed was able to significantly expand its customer base by adding hundreds of new customer accounts in industrial design and consumer product marketing including: Dell, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Kohler, Samsung, IDEO, frog design, and SMART Design.

Bunkspeed's automotive and transportation division also significantly expanded its business by adding new customers like Bentley, PSA, and Jaguar / Land Rover, while securing significant repeat business from existing customers Chrysler, Ford and Honda.

What's really exciting is even though the automotive industry is going through a very difficult time, two of the domestic car companies and many foreign car companies continue to invest in Bunkspeed tools, said Michael Check, President, Automotive and Transportation Division. The significant cost savings that our tools provide is the key driver in continued success in the automotive industry and we expect further growth in this market segment for 2009.

In 2008, Bunkspeed also expanded its presence in academia, as many universities are adding Bunkspeed's software to their curriculum. These schools include Academy of Arts, Art Centre College of Design, CCS - College for Creative Studies, Coventry University, Royal College of Art, Fachhochschule Pforzheim, and IED - Istituto Europeo di Design.
