Paul Shin's "get well message" from the Science Cheerleaders

Dr. Paul Shin, Chemical Instrumentation Manager at CSU Northridge, has long been a science outreach guy.   He's also more recently a fighting cancer guy.    But he has done so much for ... well, everyone ... that the science cheerleaders at the USA Science&Engineering Festival (he could not attend due to health issues) sent him a special message when they found out he could not go.

We're rooting for you also, Paul.  Even better, since we're not one of those militant atheist science communities, likely 50% of the audience is praying for you also (but let's keep science on point for this mission).

    Hi Hank!

Thanks so much for sharing my fight with cancer! This actually really helps me know that are many out there who care not just about the causes we fight for as a whole (science literacy and education), but about something many will have to deal with whether we want to confront or not- a life threatening disease! I will beat this and return with renewed strength and vigor! After conquering this disease, I will return to fighting an older problem plaguing this nation for the past few decades.

    Cheers!
    Paul

Paul Shin passed away earlier today.   He was, quite literally, one of the most gracious people involved in science outreach.   He never had anything but enthusiasm for anyone trying to make a difference.

    He will be missed.   R.I.P.
