For science credibility about biology, who means more?

    For GMOs
    Against GMOs
    US National Academy of Sciences
    PETA

    UN World Health Organization

    Sierra Club

    US Department of Agriculture

    Friends of the Earth

    US Food and Drug Administration

    Union of Concerned Scientists

    US Environmental Protection Agency

    Environmental Working Group

    American Medical Association

    Center for Food Safety

    UN Food and Agriculture Organization

    Chief Scientific Adviser for Europe

Friends do not let friends get their science from political science majors working at activist groups. Obviously the list is not complete.  Thousands of other scientists could be added in, but that would simply be overkill.

The question is not who means more it's who spent the most dollars. $$$$$$$$ speak

So the AMA and the EPA and the UN are all trying to outspend PETA and Sierra Club to kill the world?  An interesting conjecture, but unlikely.

Excuse me, but as a PhD Chemist I think I have a good handle on science and I am opposed to GMO and base my opposition on the Science. A list as presented in this post, especially since all the US Goverment agencies that you list are known to be beholden to industry and have a well documented history proving that when regulation of things are not in the interest of corporations they ignore the science. Hank, this is just stupid, it doesn't represent the facts, the science or even a logical well thought out argument in support of GMOs. How about you read some independent research and try again or are you just a political pundent hack? I am betting on the latter. You can start by reading " the world according to Monsanto" and "the merchants of doubt" two books that clearly demonstrate with citations how full of crap you actually are. Your rant doesn't qualify as science ether.

Crackpot condition: yellow.  So your degree in chemistry trumps tens of thousands of biologists?

BTW ... I'm protesting that you didn't put my name under the Center for Food Safety.  What!?!  I'm not good enough?  :)
    Hank
You've done too much research to be included in that grouping.

Well, now I have to respond to that response just so I can see my name in print again :)

Ok ... since you completely failed to actually provide any science links [and no I will not read those books].  I want to see some peer-reviewed publications listed that argue the point.

Personally I'm opposed to GMO's.  I have a concern regarding potential downstream biological impacts regarding herbicide/pesticide resistance.  Primarily I'm opposed for economic/political reasons.  I don't think there's anything in the science to suggest or demonstrate a problem as it stands.
