The behaviour of inhabitants of the earth on the whole has followed a pattern of war and peace. There was an eara of tensions, then came era of freedom of thoughts, and now global warming.

To me earth is global living entity with its own identity in the solar system. Man made political boundaries apart the human behaviour globally has followed a pattern of war and peace, happiness and sorrow, plentiful to droughts, haves to have nots in a cyclic manner. According to Japanese proverb things come in pair, joy will always be followed by sadnes .

Human behaviour has remained some what  simliar on a global scale.  There was an era of man dominating the political scene then came suddenly Madam Margret Thatcher, Mrs Indira Gandhi, Mrs Bhandarnaike, Mrs Golda Meir and now Mrs Pratibha Devi Singh Patil .
This wave of changing pattern of chosing their leaders around the globe has been following a pattern . I dont know. However I feel earth is one entity and it behaves in a definite pattern and now its decline is also like  an dying old man . Its veins  or  rivers getting dried up . Its lungs or forests or Jungles are chocking, its heart and brain is not getting enough pure air ,  Its skin or  Soil profile eroding like old man getting wrinkles .  However the reproductive productivity of earth has not declined despite of her age but it is compensated on a global scale to some extent.
All these changes are happening  simultaneously following some kind of common pattern . Ihave been watching plants of Butea monosperma in flowering state for the last 30 years . They flower along with Bombax cieba and Tecomella undulata . The plants always remembered the dates for flowering which always started from 5th March and ended with the end of March. There was only a variation of some days but not months. When spring comes you dont have to tell plants to bloom and when winter sets in plants also start looking sad and weeping . How do all the plants know when to smile and when to weep around the globe.

I dont know people around the globe can vouch for themselves.
Its  time to save the dying old man from his or her premature death lest our children may not be there to forgive us for over exploitation and less care of earth as an entity which respires and produces and lives for us and for us only the living beings.
