The debate on biofuel vs. food is more of less like the suggestion of a person when we were taking plantion in a park area near our home some 25 years ago. We planted 400 trees almost at the distance of 2x2 meter in a small patch. Someone pointed out that its too close for tree plantation . Plant trees at minimum distance of 3 to 10 m apart as they need space to grow. Now when I pass that park area each day there is only one surviving tree which is of mammoth size. Only one tree survived out of 400 trees in a span of 25 years and all others died.

Many alternative Bio Diesel fuels have been shown to have better exhaust emissions than traditional Diesel fuel. Jatropha Bio diesel holds promise as fuel alternatives for diesel engine because :- Bio Diesel are renewable fuelDepletion of the Primary FuelsBio Diesel are agriculture orientedA number of researches have shown that jatropha bio diesel has fuel properties and provides engine performance that is very similar to diesel fuel The severe emission regulations in the world have placed design limitations on heavy duty diesel engines. The trend towards cleaner burning fuel is growing worldwide and it is possible through Jatropha bio diesel. Bio diesel includes a high cetane number, low sulfur , low volatility and the presence of Oxygen atoms in the fuel molecule

Emerson said “A man is what he thinks about all day long…….”. What controls our thought process? We can have 9 types of thoughts as are the “ rasa”. Some of the thoughts could be of Love, hate, fear anger, devotion, renunciation , happiness, pleasure and pain. What haunts us most is the thought of ungratefulness of someone for whom we have done a lot and what causes maximum agony is the idea to settle the score with him . We keep on brooding all bad things that s/he has done to us and keep on remembering the ungratefulness. But is s/he listening. No. Is s/he affected? Only our health is. Thoughts keep on coming that make us angry . Why did I help him? Do good things and forget that is Indian philosophy.

Happiness is defined in east and west in different manner. Amassing huge amount of wealth by rulers in east was considered to make them happy while saints of eastern philosophy derived their happiness in renunciation of world. One boy was sitting on a buffalo in South East Asian country and my German Professor was in a mood to talk to him. He talked to him through intermediate fellow. My Professor asked him why do you not go to school ? He asked what will happen if I go to school? You will get degrees? What will happen with degrees? You will get a good job? What will happen with good job? You will earn lot of money. What will happen with lot of money? Lot of money will make you happy. But I am already happy. He replied curtly.

Pt Jawaharlal Nehru wrote famous book Discovery of India. It depicted unity in diversity. Now if you apply the same to the world of plants and call it discovery of biodiversity , the unity in diversity is more than evident. The global earth is the only place for mankind to live. Drinking water is limited and so is the earth’s area of arable land, river systems, hills roads, railway lines, pastures, and industrial production , mineral resources and all things that are present on the earth are limited. Population growth is unlimited.
