COLOGNE, Germany, February 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Acentic, a leading supplier of broadband systems and digital interactive TV (iTV) for the hotel industry has launched Acentic Media, a new multimedia digital platform. Acentic Media went live in November in the hospitality marketplace with MasterCard as a lead sponsor and Infiniti UK as co-sponsor. Available to hotel customers as an upgrade for Acentic's sophisticated digital interactive TV and high-speed internet platform, Acentic Media provides an advanced advertising tool for hotels to generate incremental revenue. The launch commenced within selected Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotels and will be rolled out to other hotel chains within the UK and Europe over the next few months.

Acentic is one of Europe's largest providers of interactive TV systems and high speed internet technology to the hotel industry, servicing more than 200,000 rooms in more than 1,100 mainly four and 5-star hotels across EMEA. Acentic provides the platform and content in entertainment systems for many major hotel chains, along with numerous independent luxury properties. Focusing on optimized multiple bundle offerings that strongly promote the true convergence across all modern devices such as television, laptop, iPad and smart phone, Acentic strives to integrate the Acentic Media advertising package into all platforms.

By exercising control over the type and frequency of advertising, Acentic Media allows hotels to offer an integrated package of media options to advertisers through guest information channels where video and graphic content can be shown. Brands can also engage with guests via the hotel's Wi-Fi offering and through sponsorship of the in-room movie guide. In addition, the options are all measureable providing hotels with totally flexible and truly accountable media earning opportunities.

"We are excited about the new Acentic Media offering because we believe it will deliver the audience we are looking for. With their positioning in upscale and luxury hotels all over the UK and Europe, our pilot activity in the UK has allowed us to cost-effectively target one of our prime customer segments, the business traveller, in an uncluttered environment when they're most receptive," said Amelia Bloundele, VP of Marketing at MasterCard. "We are excited to be a partner with Acentic in what will undoubtedly be a mutually beneficial relationship."

"Acentic Media allows us to offer hotels the chance to cost-effectively increase revenue and we are excited to be part of the first major media launch of this kind in the hotel sector," said Richard Robinson, CEO at Acentic. "We are thrilled to have MasterCard join us as a long-term partner in this endeavour and we see it as a great way for them to engage with travellers on multiple levels."
