CALGARY, Canada, November 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Flint Energy Services Ltd (Flint, the Company) announced today that FT Services, Flint's 50 per cent owned joint venture, was awarded a two-year, C$12 million contract to provide pipeline maintenance services at Canadian Natural Resources Ltd's Horizon Project near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This follows the award of an earlier three-year contract for maintenance work on bitumen production facilities at Canadian Naturals' Horizon Project in late 2007. The new contract adds pipeline maintenance services to the existing mechanical, electrical and instrumentation services performed bringing the value of FT Services' work at Horizon to just over C$60 million.

This new contract builds upon our current maintenance capabilities with Canadian Natural and excellent performance to-date, says Andy Mackintosh, President and CEO, FT Services. The addition of the pipeline maintenance work demonstrates our capabilities and growing relationships with our customers in the Fort McMurray oil sands region.

FT Services has completed more than 100,000 recordable hours of injury free work leading up to the successful commissioning of the Bitumen Production plant at Horizon.

Another 50 to 60 personnel will be employed as FT Services ramps up to start pipeline maintenance services in mid-December this year. FT Services currently employs more than 100 staff for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation services on the Horizon site.
