- Orascom Telecom Subsidiary Will use Comptel Solution to Improve Fulfillment Processes for Mobile Services
Comptel Corporation (OMX Helsinki: CTL1V), the leading vendor of dynamic Operations Support System (OSS) software, announced today that Algerian mobile operator Orascom Telecom Algerie OTA (Djezzy), a fully owned subsidiary of Orascom Telecom Holding, has selected Comptel Provisioning and Activation Solution. This deal follows the announcements in 2007 of Comptel being chosen as preferred supplier by Orascom Telecom, and of the subsequent selection by Orascom joint venture Tunisiana.
After Orascom Telecom won the 2nd mobile license in Algeria in 2001, Djezzy has grown rapidly. In May 2008 Djezzy reached 14 million subscribers and 63% market share in a 3 players market. OTA found that their existing solution for provisioning and activating services had to be enhanced to meet the growing demand.
