About Joel Joel is Professor at the Derner Institute for Advanced Psychological Studies, at Adelphi University in New York and completed post-doctoral training in human motivation at Harvard University.

He is a founding partner of Implicit Strategies, a practicing clinical, personality and motivation psychologist, and author or co-author of over 100 articles. Joel has also co-edited books on personality change, and on the art and science of psychotherapy. His political and business commentaries appear in the Huffington Post.

Joel is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and received the Ulf Kragh Award from the University of Lundh, Sweden, for his work on unconscious processes, which resulted in consulting on behalf of the Pentagon. As a founding partner of Implicit Strategies, Joel helps political campaigns, non-profits and commercial companies discover what consumers really think and feel about their candidate, product, or brand.
