About Linda Linda Litteral, Personal Passions: Nature Photography, SCUBA Diving, Storytelling, Traveling, Learning New Things Most recent Proud Moment: Grand premiere at Chicago Symphony Hall, where my nature images were projected on a 20 x 40 foot screen as part of a syndicated global warming program in cooperation with the Chicago Art Institute, Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, the Chicago Sinfonietta, and the Chicago Humanities Festival. Professionally, I provide continuing education for teachers, educational coaches, and school or team leaders in the areas of science education, higher order thinking skills, creativity, and gifted science education. I recently added Classroom Publishing as one of my offerings. During programs of varying length, I draw on my background and experience in curriculum development, graphic design, photography, illustration, and writing to give educators in all curricular areas the tools to enrich student growth through the exciting activities involved with book production. Author: Boobies, Iguanas & Other Critters: Nature's Story in the Galapagós, a children's book Numerous articles in marine biology for Dive Training Magazine Linda’s doctoral thesis: Writing Science Nonfiction for Young Adolescents, includes an extensive literature review in the areas reading and writing and concludes with a process on writing science nonfiction. EdD - Curriculum & Instruction in Science Education, University of Illinois, with these areas of study: writing nonfiction for adolescents, gifted education, higher order processing skills, marine biology, and Science/Technology/Society (STS).
