I am currently training at the University of California, San Francisco where I have fallen in love with immunology. I am a fifth year graduate student on track to receive my PhD in the coming year.
My research focuses on how the maternal immune response is involved in causing preterm labor during pregnancy. My column will focus on issues of women's health and how immunology is used to answer some fascinating questions. After graduation, I hope to join the community of science translators who take scientific discoveries from the lab and communicate it to the general public. My goal in life is to make science less scary and get people talking about the questions that scientists work night and day to answer.
When I am not working in the lab, I am a dedicated runner.
