20 STEM students will be gathering this weekend at The George Washington University in Washington, DC to compete for a $100,000 scholarship as part of the final round of the Siemens Competition in Math, Science&Technology. The competitors were selected this fall at six regional competitions. Winning projects identified innovative treatment options for pernicious diseases like cancer, heart conditions, and neurodegenerative illnesses; created new developments in nanotechnology; and presented new theories in mathematics and statistics.
NASA Aeronautical Engineer Aprille Ericsson and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci will keynote.
The results will be announced Tuesday, Dec. 9; 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at The George Washington University, Jack Morton Auditorium, 805 21st St. NW, Washington, DC 20052
