Sometimes, these misplaced "things" are really ideas. One of these misplaced ideas is the belief that moles are an indication of a grub infestation. It's been sitting there for so long, I often forget it's even around.
The basis of this idea is an erroneous error of logic. Moles eat grubs = true. If there are no grubs, moles won't stick around = untrue.
Moles eat a lot of things. Insects and worms are high on the tasty scale, Getting rid of grubs will eliminate just one food source, doing nothing to get rid of the moles themselves. Unless you completely sterilize the soil of all life (NOT a good idea), the moles will find plenty to chow down on. It's like a Chinese food buffet where the broccoli with garlic sauce is missing. Will some folks be bummed out? Sure. Will all the clients leave to find another buffet? Not a chance.
The existence of mole tunnels is a surefire indication of one particular problem though. Moles.
