Fluoride levels in ground water of Niwai tehsil adjacent to Sanganer tehsil are increasing day by day. They have reached from 0.5 ppp to 6 ppm levels which is very harmful for human consumption. Storage of water in earthen pots and treatment with alum has been suggested but situation is alarming. Is there any cure for flurosis ? How to control fluoride levels increase below ground ?
Population is increasing in third world. Resources are decreasing in third world. Same amount of land, water, food, and clothing and shelter has to be shared by greater number of persons. More people means more garbage human waste, solid waste. Advancing civilizations need more energy, use of packed materials in throw away plastic dishes, glasses and plates? Freedom means to litter every place on the earth available and pollute every drop of water at local level to meet the human needs. The other day meet at Jaipur suggested that Rajasthan has water reservoirs for to meet the need for another 10 to 15 years. Some time ago there was cry for fluoride causing bone damage in Rajasthan or Arsenic in wells of W. Bengal.
Climate change is permanent change in climatic conditions of a region generally associated with altered rainfall, agricultural pattern, temperature conditions, droughts, floods, snow or high heat or low heat levels. In general it is assumed that green house gas emission is causing climate change. It needs a big study and big organizations are busy with big money to deal with such situations. However to a botanist climate is regulated by plants and any climate change must involve the plants to restore the same. Plants are the only solar energy convertor system which also consume excess of carbon di oxide produced due to human activities, transport vehicles and indutrial pollutants.
Fast urban development, rapid population growth, and industrialization are turning cities in nightmares of traffic jams and pollution levels of air, water and groundwater are alarming. From West Bengal ( Arsenic levels), to Rajasthan ( Fluoride levels and secondary salinization due to irrigation water salinity) , western ghats to kanyakumari to sunderbans situation is alarming One of my friend asked me I should give solutions also to the problems of pollution of water and air. The only agent to provide energy, remove pollution and reduce the carbon emission levels while still keeping same levels of industrial growth are PLANTS. "Human life" came to the earth after the plants were there to sustain it.
Rivers have been worshipped as "mata " like "Jamuna mata" "Ganga mata" i.e. (mata = mother )and cosidered as a living entity in ancient scriptures . RIVERS ARE actually lifeline OF a nation. Once the rivers dry up a nation may face many problems. Climate change has caused untold miseries and revolts in human societies . Water is transported by rivers across a nation or nations globally. Increasing population, industrialization pressure , and waste disposal into river system has made rivers as " drainage " or municipal waste carriers. The old mythology to "worship rivers" was based on creating respect for the river system and avoid pollution in them. It was sin to put municipal waste or sewage waste in "holy river system" This has worked for many centuries.
