HEIDELBERG, Germany, November 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Heidelberg Prostate Therapy Clinic opened the doors of its new facilities in the new Heidelberg Medical Centre (:medZ). The former health centre has been converted into a medical centre of excellence. The interior and exterior of the building have been adapted for the needs of patients, allowing individual consulting as well as ultra-modern and top-quality medical care. This conversion to an optimal environment for treatment applies not only to the architecture, which now allows handicap access, but is also true for the specially developed colour scheme and design in the area where the Prostate Therapy Clinic is now located.

Approximately 40 rooms, spread over an area of 425 m(squared), offer generous facilities for consulting, examinations, treatment and post-operative care. The extensive roof terrace will allow patients and relatives to enjoy an excellent view over Heidelberg. Four modern and tastefully furnished rooms provide space for overnight stays.

The main focus of the clinic is the gentle prostate treatment of benign and cancerous prostate conditions. With this relocation we want to provide our patients, who come from across the world, with optimised medical support. This though is only possible in suitable facilities such as those provided by the Heidelberg Medical Centre, states clinic founder and director Dr. Joachim-Ernst Deuster. The urologist is a pioneer of the gentle prostate therapy method in Germany and was the first person in the country to employ the high intensity focused ultra sound (HIFU) method for cancer treatment and the Greenlight-Power-Laser method for treating benign prostate hyperplasia.
