About Catarina I was a scientist for many years (immunology/autoimmunity) at Oxford University until I decided to move into scientific journalism and public understanding of science. I'm still at Oxford Uni , write about any bio-related science and am involved in a project to increase the visibility of Portuguese science (Financed by the Foundation for Science and Technology FCT, FSE III Quadro Comunitário de Apoio) , so a lot of Portuguese research in my pieces. I am also interested in many other things including literature, art and politics.
