What I Had For Breakfast - Not Really

A short history of blogging

In the early days of blogging, a lot of people seemed to feel the need to share boring stuff about what they did all day.  A typical blogger would write stuff about what they'd eaten, where they had been, what their cat dragged in, etc.  And then came the bloggers who wrote some real cool stuff:

Do I know good science?
Not really, but I have watched a lot of Mr. Wizard and Quantum Leap, and I also worked at Sea World of Ohio (when it existed) for a summer. Hey, cleaning duck poop off the pavement taught me a lot about science!

Then came lots of other cool stuff and then came this totally bodacious science 2.0 site which got me hooked, first reading, then commenting and finally writing.  I haven't looked back since, but my doctor has referred me to a good physiotherapist.

And now to the point.  Is there one?  Well, sort of.  This is a science site.  What I had for breakfast or whatever has nothing to do with science unless I send my stomach away for forensic testing, which - I hope you understand - I'm not in any hurry to do.  Instead, I'm going to blog about myself from time to time so that my readers can find out a little more about me.  Not too much, just a little, so my full DNA printout isn't going to appear here any time soon.

I promise not to write daily updates to three decimal places on how many miles I did on my bike today.  I wouldn't want to bore you, would I?  Eh?
