The United Kingdom has delays even longer than the United States for routine care but with a fraction of the population, their high costs are a lot more punitive to taxpayers.

Government is always looking for ways to keep costs contained but NHS employees need raises also, so it is a challenge. Needing fewer new employees will help.

The newly-announced EDITH program will involve hundreds of thousands of women at 30 sites in England and should reduce the workload of radiologists because a large study has already shown it will work. MASAI led to 29% higher detection of cancer and reduced workload compared with radiologists without A.I. by 44%, with no increase in false positives.

That's a public health win waiting to happen. Congratulations, England. Let's get on this, America.
