Russian feminist punk-rock (and, if we are being honest with each other, not very good) band Pussy Riot's 15 minutes of anti-religion fame may be about up.  Russia has turned its social authoritarianism on something new; PepsiCo.

Wimm-Bill-Dann, Russia's largest food/beverage company owned by PepsiCo, has a Jolly Milkman marketing campaign which includes a colorful rainbow. The issue: Jolly Milkman translates to “gay milkman” - but not gay as in homosexual, gay as in happy, like in Fred Astaire movies. Still, gay means...gay...these days and the Narodny Sobor group thinks they are just being clever and has filed a complaint alleging that Wimm-Bill-Dann is violating a local ordinance which prohibits the “promotion of homosexuality to minors.” Stupid rainbows.

“In the near future we are planning to picket the shops and hand out leaflets informing people that the money they spend on this milk will be used to finance gay propaganda,” says Anatoly Artyukh, leader of the organization.
