The French look at not owning air conditioning as a point of pride, and it may have made them so grumpy it explains why they passed laws saying no one can install it unless they get permission from their neighbors, and perhaps even the city or prefecture government.

They can talk about mitigating climate change but letting 10,000 senior citizens die during heat waves was never a good thing, especially when wealthy nations refuse to hold China accountable for being the runaway leader in emissions. Air conditioning might make Europeans see issues more clearly.

If so, demographers funded by the communist dictatorship in China may be doing their leaders a disservice with an analysis of social media accounts - all your data belongs to China by now - which found that during warmer temperatures, people get angrier.

The analysis looked at 157 countries with 65 languages, ironically China was the one country excluded from real information, and resulting 1.2 billion social media posts from 2019 using Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers. They correlated temperates over 95 degrees Fahrenheit to 25 percent more negative posts in poor countries, the ones told by western progressives that the world needs to stop using air conditioners, and about 8 percent more negative feelings in rich countries.

The ratings are subjective but all of this is only EXPLORATORY in any case, and ranged from 0 (very negative) to 1 (very positive) broken into nearly 3,000 locations.World Bank gross national income per-capita data determined if an area was poor or not. That was then mapped to local temperatures.  Then they declared statistical significance between sentiment and temperature, because statistical significance is the Smurf of Statistics - it can turn into anything you want.

But the goal of these things is media attention and poor people being 300% more likely to be mean  will fire up corporate journalists who want to promote the idea that we're angrier than ever because of climate change. We're going to get a whole lot of poor people, 2% of the world, even angrier if climate change estimates by 2100 are valid. That would tear down every government. Except China or Arabia or other dictatorships where dissent is removed early.

Let's let senior citizens permission to own air conditioners and install more nuclear to power them. Even if China wants rich countries to keep subsidizing gimmicks like solar panels which have already gotten $4 trillion in subsidies and changed conventional usage by 0.1%. For that same money nuclear could have gotten 2 billion poor people using dung and wood for fuel into clean, safe centralized energy.
